This little fellow really shows how extended this gothic face is. It is probably a derivation of a much more geometric, perfectly round letter, and it’s been puuuuuuled out. I love the shape the negative space on the right side makes, like a robot claw reaching into something. This block has a golden tint to it and is in need of some cleaning.

Is it part of a complete set? Yes

Hi Beth – this is very pretty – I like the proportions – very balanced. In your footnotes you say that it part of a complete set – is the set yours? I would like to more images of the other characters to refer to as I have just discovered a set like this at a local printers and am trying to buy it…
As ever, you maintain a lovely blog – but check in on mine in the coming weeks – I have some new print blocks to try and another old press to restore!

Mr. Skinner,
Yes, the set is mine and I have all the punctuation, lowercase and uppercase letters and numerals. I will photograph them this weekend and see if I can get to school to pull a proof.
I check in on your blog often, I can’t wait to see your new blocks!
