This is a petite little 8 from a mixed lot I purchased 2 years ago. The wood has a great, rich color, and I love it when splotches of ink are still on the face of a letter when the rest is spotless. The grain is pretty distinctive on this block, I like how it ripples across the block.
The counters are quite irregular, the bottom one seems much more elongated and sort of bean shaped. I love how meaty and symmetrical the typeface is. I believe I have a handful additional letters that go along with this number, so I will see about getting them identified.
